AVIZANT YELLOW 20S
Application: in poultry production for skin and egg yolk pigmentation Description: Free flowing fine yellow to orange powder. AVIZANT YELLOW 20S contains natural xanthophylls obtained from the extract of Marigold flowers (tagetes erecta). By controlled saponification of the extract an optimal bioavailability of the oxycarotenoids for broiler skin and egg yolk pigmentation can be obtained. The xanthophylls from AVIZANT YELLOW 20S mainly exist in the alt-trans configuration and are carefully stabilised and standardized according to a defined content. This procedure guarantees a maximum colouring effect combined with excellent stability. Carriers: inorganic Activity: 20 g total xanthophylls per kg (being mainly lutein with a minor part of zeaxanthin). Owing to the saponification process and the addition of coadjuvant agents the pigment bioavailability of AVIZANT YELLOW 20S is much higher than that of the oxycarotenoids out of the usual components of a poultry ration. In comparison to 1 g synthetic yellow (with 10% activity) the dosage of 6.5 g AVIZANT YELLOW 20S (with 2% activity) gives the same yellow colouring efficiency. For least-cost formulations please use a total xantnophyll equivalent of 30 mg/g AVIZANT YELLOW 20S. Analysis: method of analysis is available upon request Loss on drying: max, 10% Bulk density: approx. 0.5 g/cm3 Dosage: For broiler skin pigmentation the normal dosage ranges from 100 g to 2000 g AVIZANT YELLOW 20S per tonne of feed, with the supplementation level depending on the dietary content of pigments and the preferred skin colour For egg yolk pigmentation the usual dosage ranges between 50 g and 500 g per tonne of layer feed.
